SDC strengthens its engineering portfolio – together with DESIOS

We are pleased to announce that SDC Ship Design & Consult GmbH has acquired a majority stake in DESIOS GmbH, effective 1 September 2026.

As ships become increasingly electrified, automated and digitally connected, electrical engineering is becoming an integral part of modern ship design. Battery and hybrid systems, power management, automation and cyber security require closer integration with naval architecture, structural and mechanical engineering.

By joining forces, SDC and DESIOS combine their complementary expertise to offer comprehensive engineering solutions for the maritime industry – from the first concept through to detailed design and system integration.

DESIOS will continue to operate under its established name and with Michael Lüders as Managing Director, ensuring continuity for its customers, partners and employees.
